Meet Our Amazing Doctors
Dr. Ing chi Leon Tang
Dr Tang graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 and worked in the hospitals in Queensland for 3 years. He later pursued his lifelong dream to become a General Practitioner. He has worked in various clinics in Queensland and Victoria for the last 3 years, including Sunnybank Hills Family Practice providing care to the communities. Dr. Tang is now keen to build the Calamvale Central Family Practice.
Dr Tang has an interest in paediatric medicine and has completed a diploma of children’s medicine. He also has an interest in skin medicine, spending the last 3 years honing his knowledge and skills in removing skin lesions. Other than that, he has a variety of knowledge in many other areas of General practice such as mental health, antenatal care, chronic disease management(diabetes, asthma etc), aged care and Aboriginal health.
His friendly and approachable personality make people of all ages feel welcome.. His patient and understanding nature allows him to provide comprehensive and efficient care. Dr Tang comes from Malaysia and is most fluent in English. He is able to converse reasonably in Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia
Dr. Azima Portelli
Dr Azima was born in the UK and graduated from the University of Leicester in 2007. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of GPs and has been a GP in Brisbane South for over 10 years. She is highly experienced and has worked in various different specialties such as diabetes, paediatrics and emergency medicine.
Azima is further specialised in women’s health achieving Diplomas of both Obstetrics & Gynaecology (DRCOG) and of the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (DFRSH). She is a Mater aligned maternity shared care GP, offering a range of fertility and family planning services e.g. insertion/removal of IUDs and contraceptive implants. She also performs skin cancer checks and excisions, having completed Certificates in Skin Cancer Medicine and Dermoscopy with the skin cancer college of Australasia.
Azima works part-time as a HealthPathways clinical editor at Brisbane South PHN, writing clinical decision support tools for local GPs, reflecting her philosophy of providing high quality, current and holistic care to patients.
Her other areas of interest include care of the elderly, managing complex and chronic health conditions, child health and performing minor surgery.
Outside of medicine, Azima is a busy mum of 3 who enjoys spending time with her family.
Dr. David Huang
Dr. Huang has lived in Australia nearly his entire life and graduated from UQ in 2016. He has worked all over Queensland and has settled down in Calamvale and is looking forward to calling it home. He has worked as a doctor for 8 years with experience in various other specialties including oncology, emergency medicine and paediatrics.

Dr. Huang’s interests lie primarily in chronic disease management, mental health, antenatal care along with a keen interest in cosmetic medicine.
